Mayo are favourites to win the Connacht SFC
Galway manager Alan Mulholland's family bookmaking firm has installed Mayo as hot favourites to win this year's Connacht SFC.

John Mulholland Bookmakers in Galway has made the reigning champions 8-13 favourites, with Galway priced at 5/2, followed by Roscommon at 9/1 and Sligo at 10/1, with Leitrim and London as rank outsiders.

Alan, who runs the family business with his brother Eddie and father John, said in the Irish Daily Mail: "Eddie is doing the pricing for the Connacht championship so maybe I'm not telling him everything!

"I'm leaving it to Eddie to make the call and we will see what way it tumbles."

The firm has, however, made the Tribesmen strong favourites to beat Roscommon in Sunday week's Connacht SFC opener at Hyde Park. The maroons are priced at 1/2 while Roscommon are 2/1.
