Former Cavan greats Dermot McCabe and Anthony Forde
Donal Keogan thinks Anthony Forde and Dermot McCabe should get a shot at managing Cavan.

Following the departure of Val Andrews as manager yesterday, former Breffni boss Keogan opines that ex-players Forde and McCabe could bring Cavan football on over the next five years:

"I'd love to see Dermot McCabe and Anthony Forde take the job next season - and give them the job for five years," he says in The Irish News.

"They command huge respect. When I was manager, they were leaders in the dressing room and they know their football.

"With the present bunch of players that are there, I can't see Cavan doing much in the championship - two games at the most. I hope I'm wrong, but it doesn't look good.

"But I think Cavan football has a very, very bright future if we can get the right management team in place."
