McStay takes over St Brigid's

March 01, 2012

Kevin McStay
Kevin McStay has been appointed as the new manager of Roscommon and Connacht football champions St Brigid's.

The Kiltoom side contested the 2011 AIB All-Ireland club final against Crossmaglen Rangers and lost out to Garrycastle in last month's All-Ireland club semi-final.

The Sunday Game pundit takes over from Noel O'Brien, who stood down after two successful years in the role.

"Kevin McStay has taken over as our new manager," St Brigid's PRO Aine Martin confirmed to hoganstand.com.

He will be assisted by another former Mayo star Liam McHale and Benny O'Brien, who is currently a selector with the Offaly U21 football side.

McStay, who lives in Roscommon, has had prior success as a manager in the county, leading Roscommon Gaels to a county title in 2004.
