Rooney: McEneaney won't mind playing in Haggardstown

Louth's JP Rooney
Louth forward JP Rooney believes Monaghan manager Eamonn McEneaney won't be losing any sleep over the decision to strip his side of home advantage for the Allianz Football League meeting with the Wee County on March 11.
Monaghan have been ordered to give up home advantage for the game - which will now take place in Haggardstown - following their appeal against the €5,000 fine imposed on them arising from the half-time brawl that marred their recent Allianz Football League game against Kildare in Clones.
But speaking at the announcement of the GPA/Headstrong mental health partnership in Croke Park yesterday, Rooney pointed out that McEneaney is a member of the Geraldines club in Haggardstown and knows the pitch better than anyone.
"It's funny. Eamonn knows every ground in Louth and Haggardstown is his home pitch," Rooney said of the former Louth manager.
The long-serving attacker has welcomed the news that Louth GAA is soon to get a new home at Dundalk IT, which will complement their Centre of Excellence at Darver.
"When I started off you wouldn't know where you'd be training," he explained.
"With Darver up now it's absolutely brilliant, you have a centre you can go to and know the whole ins and outs of it. Having a stadium and a place you can call home is brilliant."
