Mayo forward Alan Freeman has stressed that this current crop of players possess plenty of belief.

Down through the years, Mayo teams have had to contend with the tag of lacking belief, especially on the big stage, but Freeman believes that is not the case in the current squad.

Last weekend, Mayo showed character to come from behind to defeat Laois in the opening round of the league and this weekend they face a tougher task when they take on All-Ireland champions Dublin at Castlebar.

"I think the strength in depth that we have now, and the players that we have, and the belief that we have from getting to an All-Ireland semi-final, the belief we have as players is to do even better this year," Freeman stressed to the Mayo News. Tweet
