Ryan targets home wins

Jason Ryan believes Wexford will need to win all of their home matches if they are to have any chance of achieving promotion from Division 3 of the NFL.

The Model County missed out on promotion last year on scoring difference - finishing behind Westmeath and Louth - but hope to make amends over the coming weeks.

"We'll be looking to win our home matches, while the opening two games will also be important, home to Cavan, and away to Sligo. Win two games and one is set up for promotion, lose two and one has a relegation battle. It's a real mindset," the Wexford manager told the Irish Times.

"Division 3 is highly competitive, as it always has been. The more competitive the better, for it is ideal preparation for the championship. We have two successive games, then a break, so hopefully we'll have two victories under our belt."
