Clare defender Pat Vaughan will miss the entire NHL campaign through injury.

Last year's Clare captain must undergo surgery on a long standing hip injury and he revealed that he was waiting for a date to go under the knife.

"I am awaiting a date for the surgery, which I hope to get done in February and it will be three months from then before I can play. I just have to have the problem corrected," Vaughan explained to the Clare Champion.

The Crusheen star joins Daroch Honan on the sidelines after he underwent hip surgery a couple of weeks ago and will also miss the entire national hurling league campaign. Tweet
