Michaela murder suspects to face trial in May
January 11, 2012

Mickey Harte and his daughter Michaela celebrate after the 2008 All Ireland final win over Kerry.
The two men accused of the murder of Tyrone manager Mickey Harte's daughter Michaela McAreavey last year will be trialled in May.
The men worked at the Legends Hotel in Mauritius where Mrs McAreavey was strangled to death while on honeymoon a year ago yesterday. They appeared in court on the island this morning and were remanded in custody.
Their trial is due to begin on May 22 and is expected to last two weeks. The charges were not put to the men as the defence council argued that it best the charges be read to them when the trial starts formally in May.
Speaking on the first anniversary of his daughter's tragic death, Mickey Harte said his strong faith had helped them to get through the most difficult 12 months of his and his family's life.
