Royal County 2011 out now

December 15, 2011

Well worth the wait. Royal County Meath Yearbook 2011 is on the shop shelves now.
The new official Meath GAA yearbook, 'Royal County 2011', is available now in newsagents around the county.

The publication - officially endorsed by Coiste na Mi and produced in association with hoganstand.com - provides a comprehensive review of the GAA season in Meath, comprising 736 pages in full colour.

Every club and county team is featured in great detail, with interviews and relevant photos painting a vivid picture of the season gone by.

At club level, Summerhill ended a 25 year wait when they returned to the top of the pile with a Keegan Cup win, beating Dunshaughlin in a replayed final. Navan O'Mahony's claimed the AFL Division 1, defeating St Patrick's in the final.

Moynalvey stormed to the intermediate title and Ballivor finally fulfilled their rich promise to scoop the JFC.

In hurling, Kildalkey claimed a three-in-a-row of SHC title, with Boardsmill returned the senior level. Navan O'Mahony's made up for their senior final loss by claiming the JHC.

Special features in this yearbook include interviews with senior stars Seamus Kenny and Cian Ward. Football manager Banty McEnaney looks forward to 2012 while the legendary Peter Darby recalls captaining the county to All-Ireland success in 1967.

Tony Fox speaks about his hopes for the senior hurlers while we hear from legendary Walterstown manager Mick O'Brien.

We'll introduce you to 'Gerry from Dunganny' and Donal Smyth talks about making the transition from player to referee.

The annual also reveals its football and hurling 'Team of the Year' for 2011, which is again sure to stir up some debate among readers, as well as authentic reviews of the senior, minor and U21s' past season, along with the fortunes of the hurlers, ladies, camogs and handballers in 2011.

And the best bit, we have shaved 30% off the cover price from last year, with Royal County now costing just €8.95.
