The DVD is an important part of a fundraising campaign for Dublin Senior Football.
'6 STEPS TO SAM' features major interviews and exclusive behind the scenes footage as the senior Dublin football team achieve their dream of All Ireland glory in 2011.

Manager Pat Gilroy and key players tell the story how the team emerged from defeats in 2008, 2009 and 2010 to finally bring 'Sam' home. We see the 6am training sessions in the snow, witness the growth of a new team spirit plus recall the key moments of the 2011 Championship and the sheer joy of winning SAM '11.

The DVD also features the All Ireland Final match Kerry v Dublin in full - one of the greatest and most dramatic GAA football finals of all time.

As 2011 dawned the Sam Maguire was tucked up on Leeside 160 miles away while the Dublin footballers were training on Dollymount Strand at 6am in the freezing snow. Cork had beaten Dublin by only a point in the 2010 semi final at a time when Bernard Brogan admits that the Dubs 'were ready to win the All Ireland'. They had the team but teammate Ger Brennan argues that they were 'simply naïve and lacked the experience' to close Cork out. The comments are made in a brand new DVD film '6 STEPS TO SAM' that celebrates Dublin's first ever All Ireland victory in 16 years. The title recalls a speech from Bryan Cullen, the Dublin captain, who outlined to the squad that they had 6 steps or games to win the All Ireland starting with the game against Laois in the Leinster Championship. The 6th step saw one of the most extraordinary and dramatic GAA All Ireland Football matches ever played in Croke Park.

The film spends time exploring the last few minutes of the final against the favorites Kerry - starting with Colm Cooper kicking Kerry four points ahead and ending with Dublin goalkeeper Stephen Cluxton strolling forward to kick the winning point.

'6 STEPS TO SAM' also documents the rise of the Dublin football team under Pat Gilroy's management team. In his first year, the Dubs were trashed by a rampant Kerry team in the 2009 quarter-finals and a year later capitulated to Cork in the semis. Now a year later Pat Gilroy and his management team were focused on Dublin winning the All-Ireland Senior Football crown for the first time in 16 years.

'6 STEPS TO SAM' brings us on that journey and includes extended and frank interviews with Pat Gilroy himself, captain Bryan Cullen, forward Bernard Brogan, midfielder Michael Darragh Macauley and defender Ger Brennan.

The 6 games that Dublin had to overcome in summer 2011 were a test of their character. They came through a tough Leinster campaign with wins over Laois, a controversial '1 pointer' over Kildare in the semi and a tough challenge from Wexford in the Final. In the All Ireland quarter-final The Dubs showed some real swagger and flair to record a decisive win over old rivals, Tyrone. On to the semi final and a clash with a defensive styled Donegal where another aspect of the Dublin game, hard work and stamina, was needed to get them over the line. Ger Brennan recalls 'a game I'd rather forget' and Pat Gilroy calls the semi final win the defining moment in the Championship for Dublin. They had qualified for their first All Ireland Final since 1995. Gilroy's men had shown real determination in 5 tough matches but could they do it one more time as underdogs?

With revealing honest interviews and all the decisive action, '6 STEPS TO SAM' tells us what happened to Dublin senior football over the last 3 years, brings us into the minds of the management and key player plus expands brilliantly on the 2011 Championship and the dramatic final against their arch-rivals Kerry.

The DVD also features the DUBLIN v KERRY match in full with extras - pre-match, cup presentation, winning speech and pitch celebrations PLUS highlights of the GAA All Ireland Minor Final between Tipperary v Dublin.

The DVD is distributed by Indi Entertainment and will be available in all major DVD retailers nationwide including HMV, Tower Records, Golden Discs, Eason Shops, Celtic Note, Tesco and many Topaz forecourts in the Dublin area. It will also be available online including www.DVDsales.ie
