Finn fears for place

London and St Gabriel's Martin Finn
One of London's best hurlers, Martin Finn believes he will struggle to retain his place in 2012.

It is not a lack of form that is worrying the Cork native, but the quality of hurler that is departing these shores to gain employment in the English capital.

Speaking to the Irish Post this week, Finn, who has been London's scorer in chief for a number of years now, feels that such is the talent that is heading to London, competition for places will be at its fiercest ever.

"I'd say I'll be lucky to be starting next year. So many quality players have come over and there'll probably be a few more here as well over the next few months," said Finn.

"The standards in London have gone way up over the last year or so and there'll be a massive demand for places. I think London will be looking very strong in another year or so."
