Andrews in soccer switch

Dublin's Paddy Andrews
Former Dublin footballer Paddy Andrews has signed for League of Ireland club Monaghan United.

Monaghan boss Roddy Collins has added the versatile star to his squad for the remainder of the season after he was left out of Dublin's championship panel. A younger brother of former Dublin defender Peadar, Andrews has failed to establish himself in the Dublin squad in the past two seasons, despite showing impressive form for his club St. Brigid's and DCU in the Sigerson Cup.

Dublin PRO Paudie Kelly said Andrews switches codes with the blessing of the Dublin management.

Monaghan United currently sit in third place in the Airtricity League First Division, behind leaders Shelbourne and second placed Cork City.
