The Cormac McAnallen GAC club in Bondi, Australia
Sydney, Australia

At a recent Dinner dance celebrating 'Christmas in July', Cormac McAnallens GAC in Sydney, launched the clubs new Hi-tech website. The Club which was set up in 2005, in memory of the late great Cormac McAnallen, are currently been represented in men's and ladies football, along with a camogie team.

At a time when a lot more young people are leaving home for Australia, the standard of all Gaelic games in the country is starting to become more competitive each year. By logging on to cormacmcanallensgac.com you will see all the latest fixture & results, club news & events and live updates from a number of other websites including Jerome Quinn's Video updates, RTE and Hogan Stand. For a young person planning to travel to Australia, either for work or a working holiday, they will find useful information on job opportunities, accommodation and details needed to join the club.

The contemporary design and functionality is excellent; as you browse through the site, you will also find a tribute to Cormac, including a link to The Cormac Trust page, which helps raise the awareness of sudden cardiac arrest.

The Clubs IT Officer John Quinn from Derrytresk in Tyrone developed and managed the entire project. "After receiving the brief from the central committee, it's taken six months to totally revamp and relaunch the new website - we're happy with the end result although a website is a living thing and is continually evolving, so we have plenty of developments planned for the future."

Club PRO and Cookstown man, Eamon Eastwood, one of the founders of the club is delighted with the new website "Having a fresh, modern and engaging website helps promote the club worldwide, especially to the Irish target audience/generation who are tech savvy and expect a superior online experience. I'd encourage those wishing to travel to Australia to visit the site and get in touch prior to your arrival. Tapping into an established and friendly network can make settling in much easier."

Other features include the ability to upload photo & video content for match reports & club events, player profiles, club shop, online forum and an interactive map of Ireland illustrating past & present players home clubs

The club would encourage all past players, who have represented the club at any level, since 2005 to visit the player profile section and then email [email protected] with their profile details. For anyone thinking of joining a Gaelic team in Sydney, it's McAnallens all the way.
