NHL 3B: Rossies seal title after local joust

April 17, 2011
Roscommon 0-17
Mayo 1-12

Freetaker Gary Fallon and centre back Michael Kelly proved the difference as Roscommon edged Mayo in the Allianz National Hurling League Division 3A final at Carrick-on-Shannon on Sunday.

Fallon struck eight points on the day while Kelly was a heroic figure in defence as the Rossies came from behind to take the title.

Mayo led by two (1-8 to 0-9) at the interval following Ronan Cullinane's 27th minute goal.

But Roscommon outgunned their neighbours by double scores in the second half (0-8 to 0-4) to run out deserved winners at the final whistle.
