Kearns to miss All-Ireland semi

Newly-crowned Leinster champions O'Loughlin Gaels are set to be without full-back Andy Kearns for Saturday week's All-Ireland club SHC semi-final against Antrim's Loughiel Shamrocks.

Kearns limped out of last Sunday week's provincial decider against Oulart-The-Ballagh and team selectors Andy Comerford admits that he doesn't expect the defender to be fit in time for the last four clash.

"Andy Kearns came off in the Leinster final after being touch and go in the run up to it," said the former Kilkenny captain.

"We're definitely planning without him. He's the kind of player that will say, 'I want to play, I want to play', but I'd say myself he's gone.

"It's a bad tear to the hamstring, but other than that we have everyone."
