Former Laois hurling boss Niall Rigney will be involved in the James Stephens management set-up in 2011.
Rigney, who stepped down as O'Moore County manager after last summer's shock All-Ireland qualifier exit at the hands of Carlow, will form a three-man selection committee with Stephens stalwarts Adrian Finan, who was a selector with this All-Ireland winning Kilkenny minor team, and Fran Whelan.
The Portlaoise man is excited about the prospect of working with one of Kilkenny's top clubs
"Some of the best players who have ever played the game are involved in the Kilkenny championship and I am looking forward to working in it. When the offer came I couldn't refuse it," he said.
