Corkery doubtful for Crokes

Dublin's Niall Corkery
Niall Corkery has joined Kilmacud Crokes' growing injury list ahead of Sunday's mouth-watering AIB Leinster club SFC quarter-final showdown with Portlaoise.
Already planning for the O'Moore Park fixture without long-term injury victims Paul Griffin, Mark Davoren and Darren Magee, Crokes manager Paddy Carr is also facing the prospect of being without Corkery's county colleague Rory O'Carroll, who may not be able to return home from his French base owing to national working strikes across the country.
"He's out in France at the moment and we fear that we're not going to have him," Carr explained.
"We're not over-hopeful that we can get him back. He's anxious to come back but there's still a full state strike going on in France so it makes it that bit more complicated."
Corkery, meanwhile, has been nursing a knee injury since Crokes beat St Brigid's in the Dublin SFC final nearly two weeks ago, and hasn't been able to train since.
"Niall hasn't been able to train at all since the county final because of his knee. He's getting treatment on that but he hasn't been able to do anything over the last fortnight. We're just keeping our fingers crossed over him," Carr added.
Depending on the recovery of Kevin Nolan from an illness, Crokes could actually take the field against the reigning Leinster champions without six current Dublin panellists, while a former Dub, Mark Vaughan, is also a doubt due to an ongoing back complaint.
