Colm Begley is looking forward to facing his former St Kilda team-mates Leigh Montagna and Sam Gilbert in the International Rules series.

Begley, who returned home to play for his native Laois this year after spells with the Melbourne club and the Brisbane Lions, said: "I have two very good friends coming over, Sam Gilbert, one of their key defenders, and he will take the job of trying to stop our key men, and Leigh Montagna as well.

"I've respect for those players and I think they have the same for us.

"It is good to go over there and beat them, but to be in Croke Park and hopefully lift that cup would be a massive experience.

"It is a big night for Limerick, but we're looking to go out and hit them as hard and as fast as we can and I am sure they will look to do the same.

"I know every player is passionate about wearing the Irish jersey, as I am sure they will be will be wearing the Australian jersey." Tweet
