Cargin boss focused on toppling champions

Cargin joint-manager Ryan Dougan believes his team is capable of dethroning St. Gall's in tomorrow's Antrim SFC final.
Reigning All-Ireland club champions St. Gall's are firm favourites to retain their county crown, having been boosted by their success at the All-Ireland 7s competition at Kilmacud Crokes last weekend. But Derry native Dougan, who co-manages Cargin along with Martin Logan, says his players aren't fazed by the challenge awaiting them.
"The boys are all very fit, very focussed on the job at hand. We know what we have in front of us - they are the All-Ireland club champions, they are the All-Ireland 7s champions," he said in The Irish News.
"But we knew what we taking on at the start of the year when we took on the job with the opinion that, if we prepared the team right, both mentally and physically, we would be able to take on St. Gall's and compete and, ultimately, win at the weekend. That's what we're intent on doing.
"We're under no illusions. We haven't gone out the first few games to just try and compete and try and be as good as them. We've beat everybody in front of us so far, we've won the league and we're intending on delivering a championship victory at the weekend."
