Winning was all that mattered to Miskella

Cork celebrate with the Sam Maguire Cup at Croke Park.
John Miskella didn't mind how Cork won the Sam Maguire after finishing on the losing side on three previous occasions.
The long-serving defender, who was a late replacement for Graham Canty on Sunday, said of Cork's conservative brand of football this year: "It is a fair criticism that we played much better football last year. But we came out the wrong end of it.
"We're Cork footballers so criticism comes. We are second-class citizens down in Cork after the hurlers. We get in the local press, we get it in the national press but at the end of the day we are always tipped to go far."
Miskella knew last week that he would be starting the final in place of the hamstrung Canty.
"To be honest, I had a fair idea last week. I didn't mind as long as we won. Conor (Counihan) has been saying all year that there is 30 in the squad and if you are not starting it is no slight on you as you will probably be coming on for at least 20, 25 minutes."
