Offaly SHC: Coolderry and Kinnitty into last four
September 20, 2010
Coolderry and Kinnitty joined Tullamore and Kilcormac/Killoughey in the last four of the Offaly SHC yesterday.
Ken Hogan's Coolderry side defeated neighbours Shinrone by 2-18 to 0-16 in their quarter-final clash at Rath, with former county player Damien Murray accounting for 1-11 of their tally.
Their semi-final opponents will be Kinnitty, who overcame St. Rynagh's by 4-8 to 2-12 in the last of the quarter-finals. Colm Coughlan, son of 1981 and '85 All-Ireland winner Ger, scored 2-5 for the winners, with Fearghal Kealy and Christopher Leonard also among the goals.
The other semi-final will be contested by holders Tullamore and Kilcormac/Killoughey in what will be a repeat of last year's county final. At O'Connor Park on Saturday evening, Tullamore knocked out former kingpins Birr for the second consecutive year thanks to a 0-11 to 0-10 victory, while Kilcormac were 1-14 to 1-11 winners over Seir Kieran.
