Limerick County Board Secretary Mike O'Riordan
Limerick county board secretary Mike O'Riordan has stated that he and his executive officers must share some of the blame for the crisis in Limerick hurling at the moment.
Speaking on Limerick's Live 95FM's 'Limerick Today' this week, Mr O'Riordan said that there were still divisions throughout the county and that it was his wish that a process to resolve the matter began.
"If you look at all sides in this current impasse there is a certain amount of blame that has to be taken on board from everybody," he said
"I am not getting away from the fact that the county board has to take some of the blame in this process, as do all the other stake holders in it."
He added: "But we have to learn from the mistakes that were made and try and sort out the issues that are on the table as we go forward into next year".
Mr O'Riordan also accepted that a number of GAA supporters in Limerick believe that the county board officers are to blame for the issue.
"I suppose the county board are there to be shot at really," he said.
"They are basically the managers of the county for hurling and football and every decision that is made it the county board's ultimate responsibility to implement those decisions."
This week, the county board appointed a three-man committee to choose Limerick's next senior hurling manager.
Former Limerick stars Paudie Fitzmaurice and Damien Quigley were entrusted with the task of finding the new manager, along with Dairygold chief Jim Woulfe.
