Clones to stage Ulster finals
June 28, 2010

A packed St Tiernach's Park Clones. Ulster Council have decided to leave their ticket prices unchanged.
St. Tiernach's Park in Clones will host the Ulster senior and minor football finals on Sunday, July 18.
The decision will be welcomed by those associated with the Co. Monaghan venue which surprisingly hasn't been used so far this year. There had been speculation that the Ulster Council was again flirting with the idea of moving the finals to Croke Park, which is free on that date, while the redeveloped Kingspan Breffni Park in Cavan had also been mentioned as a possible venue.
However, the Council has confirmed that the finals will be played in their spiritual home of Clones. Monaghan will face Tyrone in the senior decider at 2pm, while the minor final between Tyrone and the winners of next Sunday's second semi-final between Armagh and Cavan will act as the curtain-raiser at 12 noon.
The Monaghan team which won the provincial final in 1985, along with the Down team of 1960, will be honoured on the day.
