End of an era for O'Neill

Wicklow's Michael O'Neill
Wicklow's defeat to Kerry in the Christy Ring Cup semi final brought an end to the illustrious inter-county career of the long serving Michael Anthony O'Neill.
It was a heartbreaking defeat for the Garden County, but they have plenty to be proud of following a year that saw a lot of pride restored in the jersey.
O'Neill has been one of the county's most consistent performers over the years and has actually lined out for Wicklow senior hurlers over four decades, having made his debut in 1989.
The Glenealy clubman turns 40 in a few weeks time and has collected a vast amount of medals during that time. He may have retired from the county scene, but expect to see the great Michael Anthony line out for the club for a few years yet.
