Griffin launches book

May 28, 2010

Clare's Tony Griffin
Former Clare hurler Tony Griffin has become the latest GAA star to launch an autobiography.

Griffin, who opted out of county hurling this year details the period of his life from 2006 to 2009 in the book and he delves into his mindset after his father died, while he also talks about his hurling career and the mammoth charity cycle he undertook in 2007.

The Ballyea clubman revealed that he is delighted with the outcome of the book and hopes that it appeals to more than just hurling people.

"I'm so proud of the book. I think it's really going to help other people and they won' have to go through what I went through," said Griffin.

Screaming at the Sky begins with Griffin training with the Clare team on the beach at Spanish Point on New Year's Day 2006, just three weeks after his father had passed away.

The book is ghost written by TJ Flynn and is in all bookstores from this week. Griffin will be signing copies of his book at Ennis Book Store on Saturday, June 5th at 1pm.
