Philly McGuinness Memorial Park, Mohill
April 30, 2010

The late Philip McGuinness
Mohill GAA club are going to rename their home grounds Philly McGuinness Memorial Park.
The grounds are currently closed for renovations but will be given their new name when they reopen.
Philly will be remembered as one of the greatest players ever to have lined out for Mohill and the club is still is shock after losing their talisman so tragically when he was involved in an accidental collision in a league game in Annaduff on Saturday April 17.
He made his first appearance for the club as a seven-year-old at U10 level and was a key part of the team that claimed the Leitrim SFC in 2006.
Philly's decision to carry an organ donor card has offered the gift of life to others and, though his sad passing leaves a void that can never be filled, Philly McGuinness Memorial Park will stand as a lasting testament to one of Leitrim's finest gaels.
