St Colmans celebrate their All Ireland success at Croke Park
MacRory Cup holders St. Colman's of Newry produced a masterclass to overwhelm Killarney opponents St. Brendan's in yesterday's Hogan Cup final at Croke Park.

St. Colman's, Newry 1-18
St. Brendan's, Killarney 3-5

The Down school led 0-9 to 1-1 at half-time with the Kerry team's goal coming shortly before the break from a David O'Sullivan penalty. Despite a second O'Sullivan penalty, St Colman's were never in any danger of being caught. Sub Shay McCartan scored St Colman's goal on 54 minutes before Tom Moriarty's late St Brendan's goal.

Colman's laid the foundations for their eighth All-Ireland success and first since 1998 early with three points from Chris Clarke and a Caolan Mooney brace helping them to a 0-7 to 0-1 lead.

Substitute O'Sullivan's 26th minute penalty brought the 'Sem' back into it, but two more Clarke efforts had the Newry boys five ahead at the interval.

O'Sullivan netted a second penalty for Brendan's, but a succession of brilliant points from Jerome Johnston kept the Ulster side in the driving seat, and Shay McCartan's late goal made the title safe, despite Tom Moriarty's consolation goal for the Kerry side.
