Mayo minor Cillian O'Connor scored 0-9 as St. Gerald's College, Castlebar claimed the Connacht Colleges SFC 'A' crown at Summerhill College, Sligo's expense in Charlestown yesterday.

Beaten finalists last year, St. Gerald's made no mistake this time with a dominant display which saw them open up a 1-8 to 0-0 lead by half-time. The outcome was never really in doubt after Cian Costello pounced for the only goal on 12 minutes.

With Niall Colleary to the fore, the Sligo college rallied in the second half but it was too little, too late as their opponents eased to an easy nine-point win and an All-Ireland semi-final meeting with the MacRory Cup champions.
