Galway football boss Joe Kernan has suffered an early season blow with confirmation that Darren Mullahy suffered a broken collarbone in yesterday's FBD League win over Sligo. The Milltown defender is expected to miss the entire National League campaign following a heavy challenge in the first half of yesterday's game at Tuam Stadium. "He had only just come back after an ankle injury. It looks like a clean break but I don't known at this stage how long he will be out. It's a terrible disappointment for Darren," Kernan said. Kernan handed competitive debuts to half a dozen players and the Armagh man was especially pleased with the new-look full back line of Jamie Murphy, Eoin McDonagh and Donal O'Neill. "It is a good opportunity to try out players and we will give a few more a run next week against Leitrim and again the following week. At this stage of the year all you are looking for is effort and there was no shortage of that." Tweet
