Bush Hotel to sponsor Leitrim

December 14, 2009
The Bush Hotel in Carrick-on-Shannon has been unveiled as Leitrim GAA's new sponsor. The hotel takes over from Drumsna-based Masonite Ireland, who recently ended their sponsorship after 12 years. Addressing yesterday's county convention in Carrick-on-Shannon, managing director Joe Dolan said the Bush Hotel was privileged to support Leitrim's county teams and was confident that Mickey Moran and John Morrison could revive their footballing fortunes in 2010. Leitrim chairman Gerry McGovern said: "We live in difficult times and it is great that a long established local business such as the Bush Hotel is supporting us in this way." In another boost to the county's coffers, McGovern revealed that the board had recorded a profit for the year. Income was down from EUR1,654,686 to EUR1,460,853, but expenditure was reduced from EUR1,724,901 to EUR1,424, 419, showing an overall profit of EUR36,434 compared to the loss of EUR70,215 in 2008. "It is an excellent turnaround from last year's deficit and a credit to all involved," McGovern added.
