Eddie Moroney, the commentator who became affectionately known as "Effin Eddie" to GAA followers worldwide, will be behind the microphone once more this weekend as Aherlow face Nenagh Eire Og in the Tipperary JFC final. Moroney shot to fame in the early 1990s for his commentary on an under-21 football final between Aherlow and Nenagh. Copies of the "Effin Eddie" video have since been dispersed to all corners of the globe, and Moroney even produced his own DVD of the game four years ago. And now, with Aherlow meeting Nenagh Eire Og in the Tipp JFC final at Páirc Shíleáin, Templemore on Saturday afternoon, Eddie will be back behind the mic once more. Speaking to the Tipperary Star, he said: "Sure I couldn't miss this one. It'll be a re-run of '93 and many of those memories will come flying back. "It'll be fair exciting though and I just hope I don't get too excited meself."
