Dublin boss Pat Gilroy has handed Ross McConnell a new attacking role for Friday night's senior football challenge against Mayo in Portmarnock.
The St. Oliver Plunkett's/Eoghan Ruadh clubman is fast becoming Dublin's 'Mr Versatile' after featuring at full back last year and at midfield in this year's National League. McConnell's switch to the '40' sees Darren Magee coming into midfield to partner Ciaran Whelan.
The team is likely to be close to that which will face Meath in the Leinster SFC quarter-final on June 7 with Denis Bastick continuing at full back and Kilmacud Crokes' prolific goal-scorer Mark Davoren getting another chance at full forward.
Dublin will complete their championship preparations with another challenge match against Down in Carryduff on Sunday.
Dublin (SF v Mayo): S Cluxton; D Henry, D Bastick, A Hubbard; P Griffin, G Brennan, B Cahill; C Whelan, D Magee; P Flynn, R McConnell, D Connolly; C Keaney, M Davoren, A Brogan.
