Ladbrokes give GAA punters a second chance

March 23, 2009
Ladbrokes offered plenty of consolation for punters who saw their teams pipped at the post in the weekend's live games as they have refunded losing stakes as free bets on both the Meath v Monaghan and Mayo v Dublin games which ended all square. "It's an expensive concession for us to offer, particularly with it hitting on successive days in the live games," said Ladbrokes Head of GAA Neil Walsh. "The Mayo versus Dublin game was very costly as we saw a lot of two way trade in the game and ultimately it's all been given back to our punters to have another shot at us next weekend in the live games." Meanwhile Ladbrokes latest set of odds for the National Leagues sees Kilkenny harden as hot favourites to take the Division 1 hurling crown after their emphatic win over Tipperary. Anthony Daly's Dublin side are in to 10/1 following their surprise victory over Waterford. It's a three-way race in NFL Division 1 with Kerry a warm order ahead of Galway and Derry in the betting. The most surprising looking book among all the divisions however has to be NFL Division 3 where Tipperary head the betting having been rank outsiders before the campaign began. They sit at the top of the table, and the top of the market at 11/8. 2009 National Hurling League Division 1 Kilkenny 1/2 Tipperary 5/2 Dublin 10/1 Limerick 20/1 Waterford 20/1 Galway 20/1 2009 National Hurling League Division 2 Offaly 2/5 Wexford 7/4 Antrim 20/1 Laois 100/1 Carlow 200/1 Down 200/1 Westmeath 500/1 2009 National Football League Division 1 Kerry 8/13 Galway 11/5 Derry 9/2 2009 National Football League Division 2 Cork 5/6 Kildare 5/2 Monaghan 11/4 Armagh 14/1 Meath 50/1 2009 National Football League Division 3 Tipperary 11/8 Down 5/2 Roscommon 5/2 Offaly 6/1 Cavan 50/1 Longford 50/1 Louth 50/1 Limerick 200/1 2009 National Football League Division 4 Sligo 8/11 Antrim 7/4 Waterford 8/1 Wicklow 12/1 Leitrim 16/1
