Fixtures
December 02, 2008
There is just one game left to complete the fixtures programme for the year, the final of the senior hurling league which is scheduled to take place this Sunday, December 7th in Aughnamullen.
Monaghan Harps and Inniskeen will contest the final following the Harp's victory over Carrickmacross in their delayed semi-final on Saturday week last. The CCC in Monaghan had planned to have the senior hurling league finished some time back but an appeal over the awarding of the semi-final to Monaghan Harps by Carrickmacross delayed matters with Inniskeen waiting in the wings for some two months to see who they would be playing in the final.
It was not ideal preparations for the Grattans who deservedly won their way through but they did have two weeks to get some work done before they take on a Monaghan Harps team that will be well buoyed up after their victory over Carrickmacross.
One thing that Inniskeen will be aware of following that victory is that they will not want to concede too many frees as Pat O'Connell is an expert in dead ball conversion as he demonstrated against Carrickmacross. Throw-in in Aughnamullen on Sunday is at 2.00pm.
