The count down is on to County Convention which takes place in the Hillgrove Hotel, Monaghan, on Thursday next, December 11th starting at 7:30 p.m. The annual report of county secretary, Ailish McEntee, along with nominations and motions for convention, have been circulated to the clubs. At a cursory glance though it does not look as if it will be a contentious convention with little by way of motions to discuss as most of the motions submitted are reported to be more county committee business concerning leagues and league structures so there will only be a couple of actual motions debated on the night. There probably will be little by way of election activity either although a new Coaching Officer will be appointed as Paul Curran has completed his five years in that position. The winners of the annual awards will also be announced at convention and the awards will be presented at a special function in the Hillgrove Hotel on January 23rd 2009. Tweet
