Carr praises classy Crokes

Kilmacud Crokes manager Paddy Carr heaped praise on his players following their impressive Leinster club football semi-final victory over Navan O'Mahony's at Parnell Park. The Navan resident was especially pleased with his side's work rate in the second half when they pulled away for a comfortable victory. "Navan O'Mahony's are a special side and we worked very hard all through the last fortnight at trying to get into the game early and try and build a lead and that pushed us on," he said. "Those questions being asked of us all through our own championship and as we went through Leinster - I think there were a few answers provided there about the depth of character that is in those lads. Because ultimately that is what winter football is all about. "There's no doubt we were moving the ball quicker and we won the contests in most areas of the field. Work rate is fundamental as this level of football if you want to go forward and the lads showed massive, massive work rate." O'Mahony manager Sean Barry felt his side's inexperience at this level cost them. "It was a whole new experience for our lads. They haven't won a championship in Meath for 11 years and they can be proud of what they've achieved. "We got two points at the start of the second half and missed a good goal chance. We could never get inside the four points and the better team won - simple as that," he said.
