Daly lands Dubs' role

Anthony Daly
According to reports, former Clare manager Anthony Daly is set to be formally ratified as the new Dublin hurling manager by the county board on Monday night. Daly has emerged as a surprise candidate for the job as his name hadn't being mentioned for the position, but he has a wealth of experience at inter county level, managing Clare for three years. The RTE analyst also captained the Banner to All-Ireland glory on two separate occasions when they won titles in 1995 and 1997, while he has trained Kerry hurling team Kilmoyley for the past couple of years. The Dublin County Board were adamant about appointing a high profile manager to replace Tommy Naughton and it seems as if Daly is the man for them.
