Dublin's Mark Vaughan
Kilmacud Crokes are sweating on the fitness of star forward Mark Vaughan ahead of Sunday week's Leinster club football semi-final showdown with Navan O'Mahony's.
The Dublin ace was forced to retire with a recurring knee injury after only 25 minutes of DIT's Ryan Cup quarter-final defeat to UUJ yesterday, and faces a race against time to be fit for the meeting with the Meath champions.
Vaughan has been receiving regular treatment on the knee, but this latest setback is not good news for the Dublin champions.
Promising Tyrone defender Damien McCaul was also injured in the same game, causing play to be delayed for over half an hour as the players and management waited for an ambulance to arrive.
Thankfully, the injury was not as serious as initially feared and McCaul was released from hospital last night with suspected knee ligament damage.
