McEneaney had word with fixture setters

November 07, 2008
Louth manager Eamonn McEneaney was in contact with Croke Park prior to the 2009 NFL fixtures list being announced. The Wee County have been given four home matches for the first time since the Geraldines clubman took over at the helm, and the team boss confirmed: "I contacted them about it. I just thought that it was very unfair that we had four away matches for each of the last three years and I just let them know that we didn't want the same again. While GAA chiefs have moved to point out that the present list is only provisional and subject to CCCC approval, Louth seem to have got their way at last. If all remains as it is, the Reds will open their campaign against Limerick at home on Sunday February 1 and also have home dates with Roscommon, Longford and Cavan.
