Longford clubs head for Kilkenny
November 06, 2008
Colmcille are not the only Longford club in Leinster club action this weekend as both Cashel and Shroid Slashers head into the hurling stronghold of Kilkenny.
Not renowned for their poweress Kilkenny teams have always being considered easy targets, but Cashel would want to take heed of their opponents' James Stephens' win over Wicklow champions Carnew in the intermediate club championship last weekend.
James Stephens are the Kilkenny senior football champions and have some All-Ireland hurling medal winners in their side including Jackie Tyrrell, Eoin Larkin and Brian McEvoy.
In the junior club championship, Shroid Slashers will face something of an unknown quantity when they take on Kilkenny intermediate champions Mooncoin.
