Kilbride Club Notes

November 03, 2008
What a victory &the first juvenile triumph for our village club, congratulations to the Lacken/Kilbride U12's team, that brought home the first piece of Juvenile Silverware.  Captain and Man of the Match recipient Eoghan Keogh historically lifted the trophy in Arklow on Saturday afternoon.  The boys went in at half time behind by 2-1 to NO SCORE.  The management team of Michael Renaghan, Joe Dillon, Pat Fitzsimons and Mark Mullen worked magic at half time and a transformation was witnessed in the second half.  Clawing back a 7 point deficit and putting over 10 points in the second half.  Final Score 2-2 to 0-10, a perfect culmination of two years of hard work from both the players and an awful to of credit must go to Michael Renaghan and his management team.  The historic team on Saturday last was: Simon Creighton, Aaron Curran, Conor Ryan, Peter Fitzsimons, Darragh Ryan, Alan Jones, Hughie Walsh, Richard Ward, Eoin Gallagher, Fiachra Dillon, Callum Ashmore, Ciaran Haytor, Zach Dennison, Aaron Renaghan, Gareth Hegarty, Mark Renaghan, Eoghan Keogh, Eric Murphy, Matthew Creighton, Peter Mullen.  Scores: Darragh Ryan 0-2; Eoghan Keogh 0-5, Gareth Hegarty 0-1; Richard Ward 0-2.  Lacken/Kilbride Under 12 B Championship Champions 2008.  Sounds good!!  Maybe we will see some of these Rathnew and Kilbride lads in 8 years time competing for Miley in Aughrim & &admittedly an arduous road lined with many distractions.  Again, well done to all involved.  A special presentation night is being organised, more to follow.  Next Up, a Championship Double?  The final of the U12 C Championship, a fixture has yet to be announced.   Other minor news, Barcelona passed off without incident and the lads take on Kilmacanogue on Sunday morning away.  Massive thank you to our fine Barcelona host for the weekend, Steven Ruiz Flynn, who hasn't lost his touch!  A thank you to the volunteers on Friday at the Halloween party in the Hall, well done to Pasqueline Creighton who co-ordinated a very successful event.   Finally, Nuala Haughian would like to pass on her thanks to Ciaran Shannon (Scal) for his kind donation of three second hand doors.  Thank you Scal.
