Nicks year ends with heads held high

St Nicholas were beaten in their Leinster junior club championship debut against St Mary's of Rochfortbridge, but it was a fantastic year for the Drogheda club. The Louth JFC winners won many friends and manager Hugh Downey is a proud man reflecting on 2008: "Their captain came into the dressing room after the game and told us that it was one of the toughest games they've had in the last two years. "It's a real community-based club and they threw us a do in the parish hall afterwards. We were all just saying that it was only just then that we were able to finally look back on everything. It's been fantastic."
