Cassidy appointed as Derry manager
October 08, 2008

Damien Cassidy
Derry county board have confirmed that Damien Cassidy will take over from Paddy Crozier as manager of their senior football team.
The Bellaghy man was installed as one of the favourites for the role once the position became vacant, with Brian McGilligan, John McCloskey, Tony Scullion, Liam Bradley and John Brennan also nominated for the job.
An All-Ireland winner with the county in 1993, Cassidy worked alongside the late Eamon Coleman as coach with Cavan and later as stand in manager when Coleman was ill.
Cassidy has announced that Martin McConnell and Brendan McCrory will form part of his backroom team alongside former Antrim football Kevin Madden.
