McGarrity, who is a noted basketball player, has switched to Sligo from his native Ballina and he will make his debut against Portlaoise on Saturday night next. Sligo All-Stars have placed a big emphasis on their campaign this season as it marks their 40th anniversary as they have secured the services of five top class players including the Mayo footballer. The Mayo footballer has battled back to full fitness after he suffered testicular cancer and he will be a big part of the Mayo side that look to make a major impact of the championship next year.
