Kildare says 'yes' to Tribesmen

October 02, 2008
Kildare have joined Kilkenny and Meath in giving the green light to Galway and Antrim's proposed entry into next year's Leinster senior hurling championship. There was considerable support for the proposal at this week's Kildare county board meeting which also noticeably supported the new disciplinary proposals which are also on the agenda at Saturday's Special Congress. These include a new category of six "highly disruptive" fouls which would be punishable by an immediate yellow card which would result in a player's dismissal, but allow him to be replaced. Four Leinster counties have already voted against the hurling changes - Dublin, Wexford, Offaly and Westmeath.
