Ramor club notes
U-8 s & U-10 s;
On Saturday last the two teams travelled to Kells for challenge matches. All the young players got a chance to don the jersey and play against Kells. A very enjoyable morning was had by all. Training continues as normal on Saturday mornings at 11am.
U-16 s & Minors;
The U-16 s are in the semi-final of the League. Their opponents will be Bailieboro, the fixture has not been made yet.
The Minors will play Laragh in the quarter-final of the Minor Championship on Sunday next September 5th in Virginia at 12.30pm. Please support.
Ramor U-21 s;
The U-21 s are in the semi-final of the Championship. They will play the winners of the Ballinagh/ Mullahoran game. That game is due to be played this weekend, so hopefully Ramor s game will be played soon after.
Ramor Seniors;
Ramor bowed out of the Senior Championship at semi-final stage on Sunday evening last in Kingspan Breffni Park. The huge crowd gathered were surely expecting a fanfare of football and perhaps hoping that the Cavan Gaels domination might be interrupted by a fresh young Ramor side eager to bridge the 16 year gap since Ramor last won the Senior Title.
Unfortunately for Ramor, their opponents weren t ready to relinquish their title, and looked the hungrier side with a blitzkrieg of scores , leaving a 5 point gap after just 7 minutes.Despite a couple of wides, Cavan Gaels went 6 ahead before Ramor registered a score. The first half was dominated by the Gaels, with the sidesgoing in at half time on a score line of 1-7 to 0-2. Ramor had an excellent chance of a goal on the stroke of half time, but it went painfully wide, and if you counted a couple of wides, things may have panned out differently for Ramor. Lady Luck was not dressed in black and amber on Sunday evening!.
Hopes were raised at the start of the second half as Ramor came out full of determination and scored three points, one a free, in quick succession. However, the Gaels replied with a free of their own and after three wides for Ramor, their opponents struck a blow with a goal and five points. With 18 minutes of the second half played there was a 9 point margin between the sides. A converted free concluded the scoring for Ramor and Cavan Gaels went on to earn a place in the final on a score-line of 2-15 to 0-7.
Ramor will be disappointed with their performance, as we are a much better side than was on display on Sunday evening. We played several excellent games in the Championship, and many thought that we might topple the Gaels. Ramor are a very young side with many players still under 21. It will be back to training again with the League in mind as Ramor endeavour to gain their place back in Division 1. There are u-21 , Minor and U-16 titles to battle for, so it will be a busy time for the club, and training continues as normal.
Wishing Cavan Gaels the very best of luck in the County Final.They are an exellent footballing side and will surely capture the title!

JUNIORS
The semi-final of the Junior B Championship has been fixed for Sat 11th October between Drumlane/Killygarry. The final Division 4 fixture, at home to LAcken is also down for Sunday 26th, but that will presumably depend on the outcome of the championship semi-final
MINORS
The Minors faced a difficult trip away to St. Joseph's in Arva at 12 noon. As expected this was a very tight affair and despite Kingscourt holding a 1-5 to 0-5 lead at halftime, few could argue that the home side were in the ascendancy.
St. Joseph's started the 2nd half with 1-3 without reply, before Barry Reilly scored a superb solo goal to regain the lead for Kingscourt. However a last-minute St. Joseph's goal secured a deserved victory by 2-11 to 2-7.
U-14's
The U-14's played Castlerahan last Tuesday night in the Div 1 Championship Final in Kingspan Breffin Park. Having gained a comfortable victory over Castlrerahan in the league earlier in the year hopes were high of victory. However, a lacklustre start saw Castlerahan hit the front early and in truth, a comeback never looked on.
A tour-de-force at full forward from Enda Flanagan saw Kingscourt unable to compete and his 2-8 tally helped the Ballyduff side to a fully-served 3-13 to 2-7 victory. It was a disappointing end to the season for the 14's after their great semi-final victory but between league, championship and the Feile there was many highlights along the way.
SENIORS
The next match for the Seniors is their Div 2 outing at home to Redhills which is now due to be played on Sat 25th Oct.
