Arson club claim county title

Down club St. John's, whose clubhouse was burned down in a suspected arson attack on Friday, lifted the county junior football championship title on Sunday. The club's first team outscored Bright by 0-8 to 0-5 in an emotional decider, which came just two days after hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of damage was caused to their facilities near Castlewellan. GAA President Nickey Brennan condemned the attack and the south Down club had a huge following as they brought some joy to the area at the weekend with the three point win.
