Much to do on Manic Monday

September 26, 2008
Monday night's monthly meeting of the County Board promises to be hectic, to say the least. The meeting has been brought forward a week, to September 29, to afford clubs a proper chance to discuss all the important motions being aired. Top of the bill will be the procedure to appoint a new manager for the county senior football team. The deadline for applications is 5pm on Monday evening and only John Joe Doherty and Francie Martin have so far put their names forward. Also on the agenda will be a motion to replace the U21 football championship with an U20 competition. Moves to create a fourth-tier intercounty SHC will also be discussed. The proposed Lory Meagher Cup would involve Donegal, Cavan, Tyrone, Fermanagh, Non Ards, Longford, Leitrim and Warwickshire.
