Cunningham a doubt for Antrim SFC final

Antrim football star Paddy Cunningham is battling to be fit for his club Lamh Dhearg's county final showdown with St. Gall's on Sunday. The highly-rated corner forward, who starred in Queen's Sigerson Cup triumph this year, hasn't been able to take a full part in training since damaging his medial ligament in the Hannahstown club's narrow semi-final win over Rasharkin on August 31. Cunningham scored 1-9 of his team's total of 1-13 on that occasion and is determined to be fit as Lamh Dhearg go in search of their first senior title in 16 years. "All being well, I'll be playing. But what shape I'm in, I don't know," he said. "I've been getting as much physio as possible (on the ankle), resting it, icing it and taking anti-inflamatories. It's come on a brave bit, but it's still a bit weak. I've been in the pool a lot and I've started doing a bit of jogging, but I haven't done a terrible lot to be honest."
