Simonstown Under 13s too strong for Summerhill
September 22, 2008
Simonstown Gaels 6-11
Summerhill 2-8
The Simonstown Under 13A opened their Feile campaign with a home win over Summerhill on a bright and sunny Sunday morning in Simonstown. The Gaels started well and appeared to be stronger in most positions on the field. They took an early lead with goals from Christopher O'Neill and Ciaran Lane but then a lapse of concentration saw them conceding a couple themselves and at half time the sides were level at 2-4 a piece.
In the second half Simonstown made their superiority count and they took control of the match. They scored four more well worked goals as well as a number of long range points. Overall this was a good hard working team performance with John Hand and Jack Shealy doing well in the defence, Niall Kane dominating midfield and Nathan O'Brien prominent in attack.
